Best reliable used car make?

Marty Tichnell: if your going to go used go with a toyota or a good nissan either one of those should last you pretty good,Nissan seems to be building good cars these days and you can find plenty of them around to choose from, good luck.

Ty Kirton: Any of these....http://www.activeautosalesinc.com/carsforsale.aspx

Manie Labat: How about a cargo van ? Seen those for good prices .

Patricia Dornbos: From 40 yrs experience , None, visit all the categories and view the trouble everyone has with every car available.Buy a car from a enthusiast, he keeps his car in tip-top shape, now you know which car is literally the best,

Marcellus Exler: It would just be used to get to and from work.

Stevie Kizziar: Maintenance is VERY important. Most people never read their owner's manuals or totally ignore them. Honda and Toyota have the best reputations, but if you don't change the timing belts on time, you are looking at an expensive disaster. Also, if you do ! not use the GENUINE parts and fluids provided by the manufacturer, you are also looking at great expense, as things like radiators and water pumps go awry. If you have no mechanical sensabilities, then a Ford Taurus is a pretty good bet. They are strong and do well in crash tests. They NEVER need a timing belt (expensive) and if they are properly maintained, have enough European influence to last a while. The 3.0 engine is the only one I recommend. People that believe that all oils are the same will learn differently. All cars of today should use synthetic oil exclusively, as it generally prevents wear and the build-up of sludge and harmful deposits and even protects rubber components best. When anyone owns a car, they should make it a point to read their manual at least 3-4 times and familiarize themselves with the idea of "preventative" maintenance. Following the schedule and using ONLY the fluids with proper spec's listed here will prevent break-downs and trouble on down! the road. There are no such things as "universal" oil, power ! steering fluid, or brake fluid, or even trans fluid! But the appropriate fluids from the dealreship that represents your particular model. Don't let "quick lubes" sell you their generic fluids, EVER!!! Good Luck!!...Show more

Lawana Neemann: the brand doesnt matter too much, i wouldnt recommend an old kia or hyundai though. just make sure whatever you get doesnt have a bunch of unnecessary things that may breakyou just gave proof that toyotas are not as reliable as people say, you had to have all of that stuff replaced. we have two american cars that are 95 and 96 and they havent had to have anything replaced other than brakes...Show more

Clement Viscarro: Regular maintenance is the answer. Toyotas are very good as are most Jap cars if the maintenance has been carried out. I recently bought a 1993 Corolla and it had replacement radiator, brakes, hoses, belts, oil and filter, but I still had to replace a heater hose that blew, and have the air con. serviced and a! new battery. Now it is a very reliable car again. have a mechanic check it over before you buy.

Marcellus Exler: Honda, Toyota and Nissan are all good choices. They have easily obtainable parts and are know for being reliable if properly maintained.Keep in mind that you can always get a bucket of bolts unless you are careful. Have what ever car you pick checked out prior to making a purchase by someone that is qualified. You can use the inspection to talk down the price of the vehicle if repairs are required. The last thing you want is to buy a vehicle and have to put a thousand dollars into it to make it reliable. Especially when you could have talked down the price with a good inspection....Show more
