Clinton Quant: I'm an RDA when I was in high school I took this after school program and got to volunteer in a Dental Office. I was in there for at least 5 months and after high school I went to school for Dental Assistant. When I first got in there I didn't have any dental experience, (as a volunteer) and I would of gotten the chance to work there after I graduated High school but I was going to start college right away. I did my extern in that same office and I am working there as well. So I think it all depends on the dentist. If he sees that you are interested and really learning then maybe you can have the chance to work in their office without going to school for it. One of my friends is a dental assistant and she never went to school she just got on job training and learned it all. In a dental office you normally work 8 hours a day and depends if the office is opened days a week. I would say just get out there and send your resumes if you have any dental experien! ce.
