Julee Lanham: Yes it is very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. I suggest you take it in to a mechanic.
Estrella Northway: just ware a mask and don't eat or drink the green stuff you'll b fineand u can sell the copper/aluminum drity you'll just get less moneyusually they'll buy the whole radiators
Willetta Munhall: Just take it to the scrapper the way it is. The green is what happens to brass/copper when it is exposed to oxygen for a period of time.
Claire Billegas: clean with hydroacid &sell
Cole Desher: its only dangerous to animals, anti-freeze has a very sweet taste and animals love it, but it will kill them, so make sure you flush it properly and dont leave anything out for the animals to drink.Getting the copper out of the fins isnt worth the trouble anyway, they only pay a little more for clean copper, so I never waste my tie with it, not on a job like that
Paul Maymi: yes
Maurice Breuning: The green color is a dye ! to check for leaks. The antifreez smell is antifreez which is damagour if you get in it in you mouth. It tast sweet. A teaspoon will kill a dog. Hot tanking is how you clean it. The air around the hot tank is in a open air area out side. So it will not kill by smelling it. There a lot of heavy metal. It is best done in a radiator shop that can tell you if it is servicable or needs added repair's. That if you are planning to reuse it. If it is for the copper. You don't need to clean it. Just remove the copper from other metal for the best price. Or sell it all together for a lower price....Show more
Bryant Pillitteri: turn it in, copper is copper.
